Luciano Candisani has documented the biodiversity, ecosystems conservation and traditional peoples of the vast South American open spaces for 17 years. He´s been a contributor for National Geographic Brasil since 2000 and has recently started photographing for the magazine´s world edition. He´s been awarded various prizes for his work in Brazil and abroad, among these five Prêmio Abril de Jornalismo, Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2012 and second prize at Festival Mondial de L´Images Sous-Marine, France. Candisani is the author of seven photography books and hundreds of articles published in several countries. In 2007, he was made a permanent member of the International League of Conservation Photographers. His most recent work for National Geographic, the book Pantanal, On The Water Line, was released in March 2013.
